The Empower project (2020-1-TR01-KA204-094078) was funded by Erasmus+ and started in 2020 and ended in 2023. IEKEP participated as a partner, with partners from Turkey, (Istanbul Valiligi, the leader, Istanbul Aile, Istanbul Technical University), Romania (H-Foundation), Italy (CSF) and Spain (INFODEF). The scope of the project was to create a manual for effective disaster management for people with disabilities. The aim was to empower people with disabilities and to try to inform them and their caregivers about the actions to follow in case of a natural disaster (earthquake, flood, etc.)
The intellectual ouputs of the project are:
- The European Framework of Reference for Effective Disaster Management by Caregivers
- The European Reference Framework for Effective Disaster Management for Caregivers
- The Accessible Learning Centre with accessible training materials for people with visual and hearing impairments
- Inclusive Reference Manual for Disaster Management
